disputed charges…

so last week I got an email from paypal saying that microsoft had charged my credit card for $59.99.  my first reaction was a bit of panic.  i mean, i have had internet accounts hacked before, but my paypal account?  that freaks me out.  and I had no idea why there would be a charge from microsoft for anything.  so I very quickly went into my paypal account and disputed the charge, as well as changed my password.  they opened a case and began looking into it.

a couple days later, I logged into my hotmail account (I rarely ever use this one, mostly just for spam stuff).  I noticed a welcome letter from microsoft, thanking me for my new subscription to Xbox Live.   hmm…that’s funny I thought - I didn’t sign up for Xbox live.  and then i realized…that’s the $59.99!

as I’m checking my email, my kids were watching a movie on the tv.  our dvd player broke awhile ago, so they have been using, you guessed it, my xbox.  as they set there watching their movie holding my xbox controller, it all made sense.

apparently either jameson or lucia felt that our life wasn’t complete without an Xbox Live Gold Membership.  I don’t know whether to be scared or proud.  I guess I’m a little of both…

I guess I better close the “fraud” investigation.
